Summer

These are some real summer colours. I just love them. The fiber is from our own sheep: Dalasheep and i dyed with Ashford colours using red and yellow. We have not summer weather yet but these colours makes me feel quite warm. I wish all of you a good weekend.

The result

Here it is. The result of my last week spinning.

Sometimes it is good when there is an internett failure.

Cause in the night from friday to saturday we had such a heavy storm, and thunder and lightning. The lightning caused that all our electricity went and when it came back the broadband was down. After a call to the company we figured out that the router was broken and yesterday we got a new one.

But anyway, I had lots of time to spin and I started knitting on a baby blanket again with some other yarn I made earlier.

I will come back later with that one. Have a nice day:)

Hello

Not allways easy to go on writing in my blog at times. I experience a lack of creativity in the last months.
But yesterday I felt really happy to create this yarn. Uplifting colours. I wanted to share them with you.

Is it possible?...

...I made a pair of socks:)

You know, I am not a sock knitter. I must admit, I hate it:S

Or do I?

The problem was I think, that I had problems with the heal and cap knitting and that made me frustrated. I allmost allways had a one sock UFO left:(

But this time I bought thikker yarn and I made a for me different heal, called a boomerang heal and it worked allmost fine. Well I finished them and that give me enough confidence to try one more time. The cap went well. And the next pair will hopefully get better.

Happy new year

Happy new year and good morning:)

I hope you had all a very good x-mas and a good start into the new year. Here it was quite good. Kids were pleased with presents and we all had a good time together.

I got myself some Knit Pro needles for x-mas and they are so wonderful to knit on that I finished my shawl Birch http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/falling-birch-leaves which I wrote earlier about.

Yesterday I washed it and tried to block it, but it was not working as good as I wanted. So I had to improvise a bit cause I have no blocking wires or something like it. ( Have to spend some money on it for the next project:p :)

Anyway, here I show you the result from my improvising and I became quite pleased with it.

Yes, I am still an amateur when it comes to Lace but I am working on it to become better. Still I think for my first blocking it`s not too bad.

The shawl is about 2 metres long and about 45cm wide on the smallest part.

Merry x-mas

Today there are no wooly pictures. Today it is food.

I wanted to show you one of my x-mas presents I`ve got. I am so happy and I asked Santa if it`s ok to open it before x-mas, cause I had a bit of baking to do.
And the machine works fantastic. Iam so pleased and so is my son.
He has Coeliac disease and I have to do all the bread and cake baking by myself. So it helps me a lot with a good kitchen machine.
Today I baked Lefse http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lefse. And he is very pleased with me.
Finally I want to wish all my readers a merry x-mas.
Iam not sure that I have the time the next days to make a new Blog update. Enjoy the next days and have a good time together with the family and friends.
To get you in a good x-mas mood I want to share one of my favorite norwegian x-mas songs with you. Enjoy. Love Sandra.

Wool for my mother

In the summer I made this: http://flowerssaape.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html and in the picture you see the final result. But it was quite interesting to see that thing not allways become like you expect them to be:)

Well it was a bit of a surprise when i put the two threads together. But the thread was loved by my mother when she came over in August.
Last week I finished the rest of the fiber that she get the whole yarn for x-mas.
I dont know how many grams or metres it was all together. But I think she can knit a short armet jacket or something out of it.
