Spring and sun:)

Today its warm outside and the sun is shining, so I feel the spring is finally coming, at least for this day...

I spun my green fiber the last days (its the one from the norwegian wild breed that I showed you all earlier in the blog) and I just combined it with a very fin cotton thread. I took different colours and I like the different effects of it.

I can use it for a shawl, or I will make it a gift. Will see.... :-)

Silk and soap

Thats my new thread, a massam/ silk blend. Its a really nice blend, it feels soft and cosy:)

I dyed it with Ashford colours after spinning and Iam very pleased with the result of the colours.

And on top of it you can see one of my soaps ( yes, I still make soap).

Its a soap with olive oil and sheep milk (powder) and it smells vanilla sugar. Hmmm, lovely.

Here it is. Iam so proud. Ok there was a mistake I did with the pattern but I love the result anyway.

The shawl feels warm and cosy. I havnt washed and streched it yet, but need better weather to do it.

At the moment its quite cold out here. So its better to have the shawl around me, then streched.

Alvin`s first birthday and a Hex

Hello and good morning. Finally the weather is not so bad anymore and the ashclouds are gone:p or lesser...

Here comes a picture of our birthdaydog:) Today he is one year old and full of stupid ideas..puberty..

The other picture shows a picture of my first Hexagon. Iam so inspired by the work of this ladyhttp://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/ and the pattern http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2008/11/hexagon-crochet.html that I wanted to try. My crocket skills are not so good, but I hope I will improve.:)

Lost time

I was quite irritated after finishing this babyjacket. The shape of it is horrible (I think). I followed the pattern but my mother in law warned me, cause she used a pattern by the same producer, and it went out horrible for her too. Sooo, no more pattern of this type for me.

Anyway, I hope it will fit the baby I made it for.

Back again :)

After my last 3 weeks at work, I arrived last sunday and the first 2 days I just relaxed with my spinning. I ordered some Masham wool at http://www.winghamwoolwork.co.uk/index.php (my favorite fiber shop). It was a blend with silk in it. Not sure how much it was, about 20 or 30%, but anyway it is lovely to spin and feels great.

I combined it with a pure silk thread. First time i spun with silk. Was a bit difficult in the beginning, but the result is nice I think. Not sure yet, if I will dye it or not.

And Iam still knitting my Lions shawl. Well, I was so proud about understanding the pattern, but now Iam not sure I did:p. The shawl itself looks very good, but I think the sites are different from the original and the middle too.

But who cares...the rest of the shawl is great and I like the colours too. I hope I will soon finish it. Some days more.
