Alvin`s first birthday and a Hex

Hello and good morning. Finally the weather is not so bad anymore and the ashclouds are gone:p or lesser...

Here comes a picture of our birthdaydog:) Today he is one year old and full of stupid ideas..puberty..

The other picture shows a picture of my first Hexagon. Iam so inspired by the work of this ladyhttp://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/ and the pattern http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2008/11/hexagon-crochet.html that I wanted to try. My crocket skills are not so good, but I hope I will improve.:)

Lost time

I was quite irritated after finishing this babyjacket. The shape of it is horrible (I think). I followed the pattern but my mother in law warned me, cause she used a pattern by the same producer, and it went out horrible for her too. Sooo, no more pattern of this type for me.

Anyway, I hope it will fit the baby I made it for.

After my last 3 weeks at work, I arrived last sunday and the first 2 days I just relaxed with my spinning. I ordered some Masham wool at http://www.winghamwoolwork.co.uk/index.php (my favorite fiber shop). It was a blend with silk in it. Not sure how much it was, about 20 or 30%, but anyway it is lovely to spin and feels great.

I combined it with a pure silk thread. First time i spun with silk. Was a bit difficult in the beginning, but the result is nice I think. Not sure yet, if I will dye it or not.

And Iam still knitting my Lions shawl. Well, I was so proud about understanding the pattern, but now Iam not sure I did:p. The shawl itself looks very good, but I think the sites are different from the original and the middle too.

But who cares...the rest of the shawl is great and I like the colours too. I hope I will soon finish it. Some days more.

Now its time for me to travel back to work for the next 3 weeks. The last thing I did yesterday was trying to do some nunofelting. I like my result but still its far from perfekt. I used black cotton in the middle and its wrapped with silk, alpakka and sheep fibers. Like a sandwich:) It feels very nice and its big enough to use as a shawl.

More dyeing of fiber:)

Yesterday I startefd knitting these socks for a friend who got a little babyboy. They are not perfect but I rly like them anyway.

This was an english pattern and Iam not so good at reading them yet, so I struggled a bit on the upper part.

The fibers on the picture are from a "norwegian wild sheep" breed. It feels lovley and the colours are great I think.

I have some ideas what to do with it, but the prosject must wait. Now I have to go on producing a bit more yarn for my shawl.

Hello everyone. I was busy couloring more fibers and spinning to get my thread ready. And i must say that Iam quite proud of the result. :)

Sure, its no lace but I wanted to try anyway. My knitting needles are slightly thicker, but who cares:p I think the result will be fine anyway. And best of all was that I understood the pattern:p

Colouring wool

Finally I am home again from work and I was not lazy this week. But I just did things I wanted to do.

I ordered some Ashford colours while being away at work and yesterday I tried them. It was great fun to see the results. Unfortunatley I was a bit scared of the whole thing so I coulored not so much fiber.

But well there is a new week coming. I think I will colour some more wool:)

And ofc the upper picture is from the yarn I spun out of the fiber today. I rly, rly love it.
